Mark Zuckerberg vs. Elon Musk in a Cage Match? What? There has been growing buzz in the headlines recently that technology billionaires Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk are training MMA style in preparation to fight each other in a cage match. At first glance, this sounds like a joke, but is there any truth to it? Who would you root for?

Longstanding Rivalry Between Zuckerberg and Musk

These two genius innovators have been extremely competitive with each other for years, so it may not be too surprising if this competitive rivalry spilled out into a good old-fashioned MMA-style cage match. Most recently, Zuckerberg launched Threads to compete with Twitter, which has already amassed over 70 million sign-ups to the social media app. Zuckerberg apparently hired many employees recently laid off from Twitter to help build the new app. A few days after Zuckerberg launched Threads, Musk’s lawyers sent Zuckerberg a cease-and-desist letter claiming that Zuckerberg’s new app was using Twitter’s trade secrets and intellectual property.

Mark Zuckerberg is in MMA Training with Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski

Believe it or not, the Meta CEO is a huge fan of MMA, and he has gone to many UFC events over the years. Zuckerberg has been training hard with UFC champions Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski. Judging from Zuckerberg’s ripped physique circulating on the internet, it appears he is taking the training sessions and potential clash seriously. UFC President Dana White also appears to be taking the bout seriously, as he is discussing with Musk and Zuckerberg to organize the event. Zuckerberg has been MMA training regularly in California for some time. He recently won his first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament, winning two medals. Recently, UFC champions like Jon Jones, Charles Oliveira, and Henry Cejudo have offered their MMA training expertise to Zuckerberg.

Elon Musk’s MMA Training

Elon Musk was actually the one who first initiated the potential cage fight. He was chatting on Twitter with fans and said that he wanted to fight Zuckerberg in a cage fight, and the potential bout has become a thing of reality since then. Like Zuckerberg, Musk has MMA training in his background as well. Musk revealed on Joe Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, that he had trained in judo, Kyokushin karate, and taekwondo in his adolescence. The Tesla CEO was recently spotted training with UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre and jiu-jitsu instructor John Danaher. There have also been other UFC greats like welterweight Jake Shields, Jorge Masvidal, Sean Strickland, and Paulo Costa offering their expertise to Musk. When and if Zuckerberg and Musk step into the ring together, it will definitely be the can’t-miss fight of the decade.
