The UFC has had many amazing moments from upsets to quick fights to bizarre instances that are hard to explain. With such a rich history, it may be hard to find the most outrageous, but here are our ten most shocking UFC moment.

Post Fight Brawl at UFC 229

The card at UFC 229 contained what still may be considered the biggest fight in UFC history. The trash-talk between Conor McGregor versus and Khabib Nurmagomedov crossed every line and the bout looked like it was going to be incredibly personal, but it was what happened after the fight that was shocking.

Nurmagomedov won the fight via submission, the instantly threw his mouth guard at someone in McGregor's corner. This lead to a brawl outside of the ring, and in an unexpected turn, several members of Khabib's team jumped McGregor from behind while he was still in the octagon.

Forrest Griffin Leaves Octagon before Decision

Forrest Griffin had the opportunity to face Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz in Ortiz' final fight at UFC 148. The fight was incredibly close, and would come down to a judge's decision. While awaiting the decision, Griffin did something we've never seen before. He assumed he had lost and left for the locker room before a winner could be declared. It took UFC president Dana White to get him back to the octagon where Griffin was declared the winner, but this is only part one of this shocking moment.

As Ortiz was being interview for the final time by Joe Rogan, Griffin snatched the mic and disrespected Ortiz by conducting an interview that could only be described as bizarre.

Holly Holm Knocks Out Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey was a nearly unstoppable force in the women's division of the UFC, and nobody expected Holly Holm to have a chance when she challenged for Rousey's title. In Rousey's previous six title defenses, only one had made it past the first round.

This time the champ was unable to dominate. Holm came out firing in the second round and was able to land a kick to the Rousey's head for a knockout to take the title from the overwhelming favorite.

Conor McGregor vs Jose Aldo at UFC 194

The UFC Featherweight title shot against Jose Also at UFC 194 was supposed to be Conor McGregor's toughest MMA challenge to date, but as he has been known to do, McGregor shocked not only the MMA world, but the entire sports world as well.

It took Conor McGregor only 13 seconds to knock out Aldo and take the title from a man considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.

Jorge Masvidal Knocks out Ben Askren

Leading up to his fight with Jorge Masvidal, Ben Askren had a perfect 19-0 record and was the heavy favorite coming in the fight.

Masvidal had other plans as he quickly knocked Askren out as soon as the fight started. The upset is shocking enough in itself, but the fight lasted only five seconds and stands as the fastest knockout in UFC history.

Matt Serra Defeats Georges St. Pierre

St. Pierre was always a dominate force no matter who he was fighting, and, leading up to his bout with Matt Serra, GSP was a heavy favorite. Serra had never won via knockout and only had one stoppage win. UFC 69 would change that.

In the third minute of the first round, Serra shocked the UFC world by defeating the massive favorite St. Pierre, but the way he won added to the shock value. Serra connected with a series of strikes that forced the official to stop the match awarding the bout to Serra via TKO, his first ever UFC knockout.

Miesha Tate Defeats Holly Holm

After spectacularly taking down Ronda Rousey to win the title in her previous fight, Holly Holm's first defense was against Miesha Tate.

After shocking the world by knocking out Rousey, Holm was a heavy favorite in this bout. From a fighting standpoint this was an incredible fight going five rounds, but it was the finish that shocked the UFC. In the fifth round, Miesha Tate locked in a rear-naked choke hold and put Holm to sleep causing the official to stop the match and award Tate the title.

Randy Couture Defeats Tim Sylvia

A 43 years-old, over-the-hill veteran Randy Couture went into UFC 68 as a major underdog against Tim Sylvia, despite the fact that Couture was the reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion. Sylvia was in his prime and experts expected a changing of the guard, but that wasn't the case.

Couture showed that he still had what it took to stick with the younger fighters in the UFC as he dominated the entire fight until the final bell. Couture shocked the UFC world by successfully defending his title against a much younger opponent by unanimous decision.

Anderson Silva Versus Chael Sonnen 1

The first meeting between Silva and Sonnen had an incredible buildup due to Sonnen's tendency to trash-talk and the hype behind Anderson Silva's reputation. Sonnen backed up his trash talk by absolutely dominating this fight from the opening bell. That is until the fifth round. Sonnen had position on Silva down on the mat, but his wild swinging attempts to KO Anderson Silva backfired when Silva caught Sonnen in a triangle choke and forced him to submit. Sonnen was dominating on points, but the outcome showed that anything can happen in a UFC bout.

Anderson Silva's Injury

Anderson rounds out our list and appears for the second time for tragic reasons. Every time a fighter steps into the octagon there's a chance something could go wrong, and at UFC 168, Anderson Silva had everything go wrong.

During the second round of a fight against Chris Weidman, Silva struck with a leg kick, and Anderson's shin visibly buckled and bent in a very unnatural way. The match was instantly stopped and Silva's career was derailed due to this shocking injury.
